About Our Doctor

Dr. W. Charles Myers, Jr.was raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. He graduated from the Elon University with a degree in sports medicine and a chemistry minor. After graduation, he earned his doctorate from the Temple School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia. Dr. Myers then went on to complete a residency program at the VA Medical Center in Vermont. At that hospital, he helped run the High-Risk Foot Clinic. Dr. Myers also worked closely with the Dartmouth School of Medicine and faculty in New Hampshire. Dr. Myers then continued his training in surgery at the Baptist Hospital in Germantown, Tennessee. In Tennessee, Dr. Myers also spent time at the prestigious Campbell Clinic under the direction of Dr. Christopher Hendrix. After completion of his residency program, he then completed a fellowship in podiatric medicine and surgery at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. At the completion of his residency program, Dr. Myers was asked to join the Wake Forest University School of Medicine faculty as a full-time podiatric surgeon and physician. While Dr. Myers was at the Wake Forest School of Medicine, he had the opportunity to become one of the sideline doctors for the Wake Forest Demon Deacon Football Team. As a high school football player and a huge fan of college football, being on the sideline was a dream come true.

Dr. Myers completed the criteria to become board certified in surgery while at the Wake ForestUniversity School of Medicine and still maintains that certification today. Dr. Myers and his wife, his college sweetheart, Ann, fulfilled another dream and moved toward the coast to open up private practice. Dr. Myers and Ann had always wanted to live near the beach, and once all the necessary training had been successfully put behind them, their attentions were set up opening up their own practice, and establishing their home in Conway. Dr. Myers and his wife have many fond memories of family vacations in the Garden City, Surfside and Litchfield areas. These fond memories and their desire to live near the coast led the Myers to make Grand Strand their home. Today, Dr. Myers has clinics in Conway at the Conway Medical Center, in Marion at Carolina’s Hospital System, and in Murrells Inlet at the Inlet Square Medical Center. Dr. Myers has surgical privileges at the Conway Medical Center and Carolina’s Medical Center in Marion. Dr. Myers holds active licenses to practice podiatry in North Carolina and South Carolina. He keeps abreast of current medical advances by attending continuing medical education conferences in both states. Dr. Myers has also appeared on local television and radio stations to discuss medical issues in his speciality. He is also a featured speaker for various conferences and meetings. Dr. Myers and his father, also Dr. Myers, recently attended a medical seminar together.

Dr. Myers is an avid hiker and backpacker. He has hiked all over the region and has taken extended trips to hike at Yosemite National Park in California and Zion National Park in Utah. When Dr. Myers is not working or hiking in the woods, he can be found playing his guitar and being on the water with his wife and two children. Dr. Myers also enjoys meteorology and following the weather patterns across the nation. Most of all, Dr. Myers enjoys being honest and real with his patients. Dr. Myers is known in the community to treat exactly what the patient’s needs are without selling unneeded treatments. Thus, this approach has led to a strong referral pattern from physicians and current patients.

Dr. Myers was recently in Glacier Montana where he was the team doctor for a group of financial planners. He backpacked in Glacier National Park and hiked over 50 miles. Treated one hand injury and numerous foot injuries.
